One of the goals of the progressive movement was to uplift
the living standards of the people.
Industrialization made the country wealthy but it also widened the gap
between the rich and poor. Many people
were living and working in hard conditions.
The Progressive sought to resolve that through advocating programs such
as better working conditions and more benefits for workers to name a few.
