why did the south object to Alexander Hamilton's plan to repay the bonds?

This is because the South had paid off about 83% of their debt and saw the plan as a way of relieving the North of its debt payments as they were trailing behind while the South had paid most of its debts.  They did not want to pay more than they have to.
