Fossils that are similar which are found on different continents helps the geologists to know how the continents are connected before. The belts of the mountains proved the moving plate’s boundaries; this clearly shows the direction in which the continents are drifted. Extrapolating from this information, scientists had a rough idea of how the continents were arranged eons ago.
