The gestalt psychologists made substantial contribution to our understanding of perception. The German thinkers who founded it made great contributions as to how humans perceive the world. They made many laws that deal with perception, such as the law of similarity, the law of proximity, the law of continuity and many others. The law of similarity states that similar objects appear together and the law of proximity states that objects near each other tend to be grouped together.
