Women who are pregnant should be kept away from people who are infected with rubella in order to prevent any prenatal infections. Rubella is a highly contagious viral illness that presents with symptoms that are similar to a mild case of the measles. It can cause malformation of a fetus if it is caught while in the early stages of a pregnancy.
