Structurally, plant and animal cells are very similar because they are both eukaryoticcells. They both contain membrane-bound organelles such as the nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, lysosomes, and peroxisomes.

The cell wall protects and supports the plant cell. The chloroplasts turn sunlight into energy for the plant cell.
