well 4 does not go into 7 evenly so think it would be best to convert to feet. there are 3 feet in a yard so 3 times 7 is 21 . 4 does not go into 21 evenly but you can ignore the extra foot for now. 4 goes into 20, 5 times. so now we know there is at least 5 feet per dress. Now we go back to the extra foot. if you divide 12 inches by 4 you get 3 so each dress is 5 feet and 4 inches, or 1 yard 2 feet and 4 inches.
