According to NHTSA, on average about 8 school-aged children are killed in school bus related transportation vehicles which include school busses as well as those transportation which are used for school bus purposes. And 4 on average are killed by other transportation involved in school bus related crashes. Most of these accidents happen during the times of going to school or returning from schools.
