well , it
happened almost immediately after the Revolution..We had just fought to
free ourselves from taxation w/out representation, and then the new
American gvmt turns around and starts taxing a product (alcohol) that
many people used as currency.The people felt this was very wrong as they
had no say in it and were willing to fight for their rights again.
