In arid areas, there’s less moisture in the air, so there’s less water vapor to absorb the wind’s energy. This means the wind can blow faster and stronger without being slowed down. Additionally, the lack of vegetation and obstacles in arid regions allows the wind to travel more freely, making it more effective at eroding and shaping the landscape.
