Any compound that has at least one element from Group 17 is called a HALIDE.

Explanation;

-Elements from group 17 are called halogens. They include: fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, astatine. A halide ion is a halogen atom bearing a negative charge. The halide anions are fluoride (F−), chloride (Cl−), bromide (Br−), iodide (I−) and astatide (At−). They forms salts with metals thats why they called halogen or salt producer.
