they formed labor unions chiefly to negotiate terms of hours, rates, and etc.They wanted better pay and working. hoped that helped :)
They did this to better the conditions of work. They also did it for higher wages where they were underpaid. Some people disagree with unions as they believe they overpay workers. Other believe that unions only help and that they benefit everyone.
