A student scored 74 out of 100 on a test. if the maximum score on the next test is 100, what score does the student need to maintain at 78

average=(sum of elements)/(number of elements)

78=(74+s)/2  multiply both sides by 2

156=74+s subtract 74 from both sides

s=82

So the student must earn an 82 on the next test to have an average of 78.
