Why do you think Alexander named so many cities after himself?

i think he was really obsessed with himself, and wanted to make people remember him forever

I believe it was because he became greedy with the power he had achieved, and wanted to expand his reign. Also, he wanted to guarantee that he would always have a legacy in the form of these cities; even if he died, people would remember him because of these cities
