You can simplify the equation on the left.

This would be 8x+6x which is 14x and -30+10 which is -20.

Thus, 14x-20=180.

You then can take the 20 and add it to both sides.

Thus, 14x = 200.

Finally, you would take 200 and divide it by 14 to get x by itself.

This can be shown as x = 200/14 or if it needs to be displayed in decimals, you can put it as x = 14.286
