order in ax+by=c form
-1x+2y=8 and
3x-y=1
cancle y's
multiply 2nd equation by 2
and add to first

-1x+2y=8
6x-2y=2 +
5x+0y=10

5x=10
divide both sides by 5
x=2

the value of x is 2
