a carpenter uses 3 hinges on every door he hangs. he hangs 4 doors on the floor and x doors on the second floor. if he uses 36 hinges total, how many doors did he hang on the second floor?

36 hinges  devided by 3 = 12 doors
he hanged 4 on the first floor so 8 remain
The Equation will be: 4(3) + 3x = 36
12 + 3x = 36
3x = 36 - 12
x = 24 / 3
x = 8

So, Your Answer would be 8 doors
