In the oxidation of glucose, carbon dioxide and water are formed. As new products are formed of different composition and characteristics, the respiration is considered as a chemical change.
Because the oxidation of glucose turns into carbon dioxide and water as a result of respiration. CO2 and H2O form as the final products and cannot change back into glucose, therefore it's a chemical change.
