When dividing two positive numbers does the order of the numbers matter and why?

Yes, the order matters. When you're dividing a smaller number by a larger number, you'll end up with decimals less than 1.

Take 12 and 36.

36/12=3.

12/36= 0.33333333333333 and it goes on.
