The Northwest Passage was a route that the Spanish people thought connected Asia to America. They believed that these two continents were in  the same location, but separated by a channel known as the Anian Strait.

Some maps were designed to defend the existence of this route. The Northern Passage, however, was never found as no such route ever existed. Instead of discovering the Norther Passage, they rather explored the pacific coast.
