Absolute dating is a process of determination of the age of the object like rock or once existing living organisms on the basis of the radioactive decay of atom or radioactive isotope. A radioactive counter is used that detects the amount of high energy particles emitted by the disintegration of the radioactive atoms in a geological material. It tries to find out the chronological age of the past events on the basis of the preserved fossil remains.
