Mansa Musa accomplished many great things during his pilgrimage from West Africa to Mecca on the Arabian peninsula. During his trip, he spread wealth throughout Africa, effectively lowering the value of gold with how much he spread throughout the continent. He also encouraged the spread of Islam as he requested Mosques to be built along the route that he could pray as he went along his way. Finally, he encouraged people to immigrate to his empire after they saw the wealth he had.
