Beatrice has narrowed down the two factions she will consider choosing at the ceremony to Abnegation and Dauntless because her father believes Erudite is corrupt in saying that "valuing knowledge above all else results in a lust for power." She wants to honour her father in the choice she makes, even if she might not choose Abnegation.
