Plug in f(x) = 3 to solve

[tex]f (x) = -4x + 9 [/tex]

[tex]3 = -4x + 9[/tex]

[tex]3-9=-4x[/tex]

[tex]-6=-4x[/tex]

[tex]-6/-4=x[/tex]

[tex]6/4=x[/tex]

[tex]3/2=x[/tex]

[tex]x=3/2[/tex]
