to simplify the given function  9a+3(8-2a), first step to take is to distribute 3 to the terms inside the parenthesis via the associative property. In this case, the result is 9a + 24 - 6a. we add like terms that are equal to 3a + 24. we can factor furthermore to 3*(a+8)
