Explanation:  Federal Judges are nominated by the U.S. president and then have to go through a confirmation process conducted by the Senate before becoming judges. They serve in the Supreme Court, the District Courts and the Courts of Appeals. The term of a federal judge is for life. Although according to Article III, this depends on good behavior, they can only vacate their position by resignation or if they are impeached by both the house of representative and the senate.
