How many people were killed in the Blitz?

In the Blitz 32,000 people were killed. 

87,000 people were injured. 
I can remember that vivid scene from a movie.

Blitz, strategic hit-n-run attacks.

I cannot imagine the horrific tragedy and aftermath. 

32,000 perfectly innocent civilians died. 

87,000 perfectly innocent civilians injured.

Two million houses destroyed.

Sigh...

May this never happen again.
