If they say that the first term f(1) = - 6 then The first term must be part of the sequence. That makes A and D incorrect  right off the top.

Now we have to look more closely at B and C.

Solution

f(2) = f(2 - 1) + 2

f(2) = f(1) + 2

f(2) = - 6 + 2

f(2) = -4

C is going in the wrong direction. That would be the answer for f(2) = f(1) - 2 B is correct because the series is going up.
