The larger of two numbers is 10 less than twice the smaller number. If the sum of the two numbers is 38 find the two numbers.

let the smaller number be x

then, bigger number = 2x-10

next, x+2x-10 = 38

=3x-10 = 38

3x= 38+10=48

x=48/3

x=16

then bigger number = 2x-10 = 2*16-10= 22
