[tex]\frac{y+y}{a} = b[/tex]  Multiple "a" on both sides

[tex]\frac{y + y}{a} (a) = b(a)[/tex]

y + y = ab

2y = ab  Divide 2 on both sides

[tex]\frac{2y}{2} =\frac{ab}{2}[/tex]

[tex]y = \frac{ab}{2}[/tex]

y = [tex]\frac{ab}{2}[/tex]

given [tex]\frac{y+y}{a}[/tex] = b, that is

[tex]\frac{2y}{a}[/tex] = b ( multiply both sides by a )

2y = ab ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = [tex]\frac{ab}{2}[/tex]
