The point-slope formula:

[tex]y-y_1=m(x-x_1)[/tex]

We have

[tex](8,\ -4)\to x_1=8,\ y_1=-4\\\\m=-\dfrac{5}{6}[/tx]

Substitute:

[tex]y-(-4)=-\dfrac{5}{6}(x-8)\\\\y+4=-\dfrac{5}{6}(x-8)[/tex]
