Madame Loisel’s dreams and desires up to this point is that of being rich, chatting with friends in coquettish little rooms that were perfumed. She also dreamed of dining with glittering silver, with tapestries peopling the walls with ancient figures while eating exquisite dishes, served in marvelous platters. The readers can infer that Madame Loisel is a jealous type of person.
