Sir Henry Bessimer was an inventor and engineer. He developed the original process for manufacturing steel inexpensively. It later lead to the development of the Bessemer converter. He had a major impact on Industrial Revolution. If it were not for him we may still be using cast iron and offsets of unrefined iron. His ideas also helped with the creation of heating the molten cast iron, and removing impurities.
