So remember that when you multiply exponents of the same base, you are adding them together.

What's happening with the equation is this: [tex] -5p^3(4p^2)-5p^3(3p)-5p^3(-1) [/tex] , which can be simplified to your product [tex] -20p^5-15p^4+5p^3 [/tex]
